About Liverpool Cycle Tours
Liverpool Cycle Tours Ltd was established in May 2011 by Phil Ware, who brings together many years of cycling experience and a background as a secondary school teacher.
When we first launched, our tours were delivered on standard bicycles. In 2018, we transitioned to electric bikes, which quickly proved to be a game changer for bicycle tourism. Ebikes opened up the experience to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level, making our tours more accessible and more enjoyable.
In 2019, we upgraded to a fleet of Raleigh Motus ebikes fitted with Bosch systems. This significantly enhanced the riding experience and marked an important step forward for the business.
For a time, we continued to use standard bicycles for our City Centre Highlights Tour. However, we found that ebikes made the experience even more fun, relaxed, and inclusive.
In September 2024, we made the decision to move to ebikes exclusively for all tours. The minimum age for riders is 14, in line with UK legislation for electric bikes, and the minimum height requirement is 1.4 metres.
Since our founding, we have consistently been ranked Number One on TripAdvisor, something we are incredibly proud of. We have also received multiple Traveller’s Choice Awards over the years, reflecting the quality and care we put into every tour.
Our Values
We are committed to zero carbon emissions and sustainable tourism practices. Our tours are designed to offer visitors an environmentally responsible way to experience Liverpool, while supporting local culture and community.
